Marching Percussion Technician

Renae White serves on the drumline staff of the “Pride of Niner Nation” Marching Band, starting his tenure in 2011 during the inaugural season of the 49ers Drumline. He was born in Concord, North Carolina and has lived in the Charlotte area all of his life. Mr. White holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. While at UNC Charlotte, he studied with Rick Dior, and served as the principal timpanist with the Wind Ensemble and Percussion Ensemble.

Mr. White is currently the Director of Bands at C.C.Griffin STEM Middle School in Harrisburg, North Carolina. Prior to that appointment, he was the Assistant Director of Bands at Mooresville High School, Director of Bands at Mooresville Middle School and Director of Percussion Studies at both. He is also the director of Fusion Percussion, a winter percussion organization serving North Carolina high school and university students.

Mr. White’s professional music affiliations include the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), North Carolina Music Educators Association (NCMEA), South Central District Bandmasters Association (SCDBA) and Music Educators of North Carolina (MENC).

Renae and his wife Sarah live in the Kannapolis area with their four children, two dogs and three cats.
